Behavioral Health Treatment in California
Great news for Californians!
Medi-Cal covers all medically necessary behavioral health treatment (BHT) for eligible beneficiaries under the age of 21. This may include individuals diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) as well as individuals who's physician or psychologist prescribes BHT as medically necessary. Autism Health Insurance Coverage
California Department of Insurance (CDI) provided strong support for SB 946, which ensures coverage of behavioral health treatment including Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) Therapy for autism. The CDI continues to monitor new legislation with the potential to impact autism and related disorders.
